The Hagia Sophia
From my visit to the beautiful Hagia Sophia mosque in Istanbul, Turkey
Anyone who’s been inside this giant dome will know that it sounds quite unlike anything else. The vocalisations while prayer takes place echo beautifully throughout the space. I had to record it, which was permitted. Got into a bit of trouble with the staff, too, since they felt that my handheld recording setup looked too professional!
